Privacy Policy
How Choice Lighthouse handles information when you use this website.
This policy describes privacy practices for Choice Lighthouse (www.choice-lighthouse.com). The site is operated by Avnit Belkind LTD from Israel and is intended primarily for readers in the United States.
Last updated: November 1, 2026.
Information we collect
- Contact form submissions: when the contact form is enabled, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit so we can reply. We do not operate a marketing list or CRM database from these submissions on this website.
- Quiz answers in the URL: the portable power station quiz encodes your selected answers in a results-page query parameter so recommendations can be generated in the browser/server request. That encoded payload can appear in browser history, bookmarks, and (if you share the link) with anyone who receives it. We do not require an account to take the quiz.
- Browser session storage: the quiz may store a temporary session identifier, traffic/UTM context from the landing URL, and short-lived flags (for example to avoid duplicate “quiz started” or “results viewed” analytics stubs) in your browser’s
sessionStorage. These values stay on your device for the browser session and are not sent to an advertising platform today. - First-party analytics stubs: quiz interactions (such as starting the quiz, answering questions, viewing results, or clicking a recommendation) may be recorded in-memory in the browser (for example on
window.dataLayer/ a first-party event buffer) to support future measurement. This launch version does not include Meta Pixel, Conversions API (CAPI), or another third-party analytics/advertising SDK. - Technical and security logs: hosting and application infrastructure may process IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs as needed to operate, secure, rate-limit, and debug the site. Contact-form rate limiting may key temporary counters to a network address when abuse prevention is configured.
Purposes of processing
- Respond to inquiries sent through the contact form or email
- Provide personalized quiz recommendations based on the answers you supply
- Maintain security, prevent abuse (including contact-form rate limits), and troubleshoot outages
- Prepare for future first-party measurement; advertising pixels are not active yet
- Meet legal obligations that apply to the operator
Browser storage and tracking
We do not currently set advertising cookies or load Meta Pixel / CAPI. Quiz-related state uses browser session storage as described above. If we enable advertising measurement, consent tooling, or additional cookies later, this policy will be updated before those tools go live.
Third-party service providers
We use service providers necessary to run the site. Depending on configuration, that can include:
- Hosting: the site is deployed on Vercel infrastructure.
- Transactional email: when the contact form is enabled, message content is delivered through Resend to our inbox; we do not store contact submissions in an application database on this website.
- Rate limiting: when configured, Upstash Redis may store short-lived counters used only to limit contact-form abuse.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the service. Manufacturer product pages you visit after clicking a recommendation are governed by those merchants’ own privacy policies.
Retention
Contact emails are retained in ordinary email systems only as long as needed to handle the conversation and basic record-keeping. Browser session storage clears when the browser session ends (subject to your browser settings). Hosting and security logs follow the retention practices of the underlying providers. We do not claim a fixed multi-year retention schedule beyond these operational needs.
International processing
The operator is based in Israel. The site is written for US consumers. Hosting, email, and rate-limiting providers may process technical or contact data in the United States and other countries where they operate. If you are located in a jurisdiction with specific privacy rights (for example certain US state laws or the EU/UK GDPR), those frameworks may impose additional requirements; this policy does not itself implement a jurisdiction-specific request portal or consent banner.
Privacy requests
To ask a privacy-related question or request assistance regarding information you sent us (for example a contact message), email yoav@stipat.com or use the contact form when available. We will respond as reasonably practical. Automated “do not sell” or GDPR subject-access workflows are not offered on this site today.
